Solar panels generate power even on cloudy days, typically 25 to 40% of peak output. India gets 250 to 300 sunny days per year. Annual generation remains strong.

Excess power flows back to the grid via net metering. Your DISCOM gives you credits on your next bill. Many customers achieve near-zero bills. Credits are typically carried forward for up to 12 months.

On-grid systems connect directly to the electricity grid. They offer the lowest cost and best ROI, but no power during grid outages. Hybrid systems include battery backup at a higher cost but provide power during outages. Choose on-grid if power cuts are rare, hybrid if you need uninterrupted power.
